Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my website. I am Alexandra Esprit, a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist. I am a member of the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), and of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), and adhere to their Codes of Performance, Ethics and Conduct.

Nutritional therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine relevant for individuals looking to enhance their health and well-being, and for those with chronic conditions wishing to work with a nutritional therapist in collaboration with other qualified healthcare professionals.

Nutritional therapists use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances, and understand how they relate to an individual’s health concerns. Therapists recognise the importance of the individual: each person has their own dietary and nutritional requirements, which depend on a variety of factors, ranging from inherited strengths and weaknesses to lifestyle and environment. Nutritional therapists take a comprehensive client history and use biochemical and other types of clinical assessment to create personalised nutritional therapy programmes. These consist of dietary advice, and may also include supplement and lifestyle recommendations.

Nutritional therapy is not a replacement for medical advice, and clients with ‘red flag’ symptoms, such as persistent severe pain, will always be referred to an appropriate medical professional.

About Alexandra Esprit

My own interest in nutritional therapy began in 2002, when I experienced a number of health concerns, including difficulties conceiving. In order to optimise my health, I turned to nutritional therapy, and to other complementary therapies, and have since conceived naturally and have two children. During that period, I studied at the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London, where I won the Ashoka Prize for Outstanding Performance in Biology, Anatomy and Physiology. I also completed a BSc in Nutritional Medicine from the University of West London.

My personal experience has given me a depth of understanding of the practical application of nutritional therapy and the challenges and rewards of following such an approach. Now, my aim is to support others professionally to optimise their health and to achieve their own goals.

My other qualifications include a BA Honours in Modern Languages from Oxford University, and an MSc in European Social Policy Analysis from Bath University. I am also a Fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs in London.
